Comparison of mosaic-X5/H and mosaic-G5 P3/P3H

The new Septentrio mosaic-G5 series is not a replacement for mosaic-X5 and mosaic-H receivers, but rather a complement for mass market applications that require lower cost and lower power. Septentrio mosaic-X5 remains your choice for high performance and high reliability applications like surveying or heavy machinery. But let’s have a look at the differences in more detail:

mosaic-G5 P3: highly reliable position at 20Hz

The mosaic-G5 P3 is an all band (L1, L2, L5, L6) GPS and GNSS receiver with RTK. It offers highly reliable and accurate positioning every 50 milliseconds. Ideal for autonomous navigation, especially for commercial UAV and robotics. It also provides RAW satellite data for postprocessing and external advanced sensor fusion.

mosaic-G5 P3H: highly reliable position and orientation (heading + roll/pitch) at 20Hz

The mosaic-G5 P3H is also an all band (L1, L2, L5, L6) GPS and GNSS receiver with RTK. But in addition, it has a secondary antenna input to calculate calculate heading and pitch/roll. It offers highly reliable and accurate positioning and heading (vehicle orientation) every 50 milliseconds. Ideal for autonomous navigation, especially for commercial UAV and robotics. This variant doesn’t provide RAW satellite data, but is quite useful for external IMU calibration. Unlike other dual antenna receivers in the market, which only work well when both antennas are connected, and interesting feature of mosaic-G5 P3H is the possibility to disable the secondary antenna input for a high performance single antenna solution.

After all this marketing information, let’s have a look at the most important specifications side by side:
