ZED-F9P HPG 1.30 Firmware Released

Q&A forumCategory: QuestionsZED-F9P HPG 1.30 Firmware Released
clive1 asked 3 weeks ago
The new HPG 1.30 firmware has been released, please read the release notes and datasheets carefully as the maximum solution rate has been reduced, quite significantly for the 4 Constellation Mode. Understand the improvements and limitations set forth in the documentation.

It is supposed to address some brief FixedRTK-NoFix-FixedRTK transitional cases that have been reported over at the uBlox Forum.

Hello Clive1 I hope that 2022 will be a year of health and prosperity for you and your family.
What is the advantage of updating the ZED-F9P HPG 1.30 firmware over the 1.13 firmware?

clive1
replied 3 weeks ago

Thank you.
The release notes should cover much of this.
Basically
Protection Level, relates to lane/positioning accuracy/containment.
Dual Solutions, with/without correction/augmentation.
Satellite based correction (Sapcorda/PointPerfect)
Bug fixes

Hello, in datasheet has information that ”ucenter GNSS evaluation software version 21.12 (or latest”, but available version (https://www.u-blox.com/en/product/u-center”>https://www.u-blox.com/en/product/u-center</a&gt😉 – 21.09. I can update firmware use current (21.09) version?

clive1
replied 3 weeks ago

I’ll query uBlox about the availability of a newer version of uCenter
The primary change would be support of additional modes/messages, the update method remains consistent.

topocomputer1
replied 3 weeks ago

In fact I already updated the firmware using version 21.09 and everything went well. I was able to enable additional BieDou satellites, using CFG-BDS-USE_GEO_PRN.

Thanks, succesfully updated and enable BeiDou stationary satellites too!
clive1, topocomputer1, may be you now – galileo configuration with satelites E14 & E18 now fixed or need disable tracking this satellites accordiong document "F9 series Galileo configuration application note"?

clive1
replied 3 weeks ago

I think they are still in the wrong orbits, you should be able to check the GALILEO related masking options/keys. I’ll check the defaults at some point here.

I’ve talked to my US support contacts, they are waiting for HQ to post the new version of uCenter, I’d assume we’ll see it within a week once every is back at work.

All dear forums

Happy New Year

On December 24th I replaced the new firmware and it seems a lot of issues have been resolved. Since I am using Carlson SURVPC, the converted state survey stations caused a similar problem as what topocomputer1 detected. It seems I am now getting a FIX position even in a closed apartment.

I look forward to the developments. Thanks Clive for the many good thoughts. I hope you don’t leave us alone in 2022 either.

You can always find me over at the uBlox or STM32 forums.
I’m looking at Septentrio/Mosaic stuff but its at the wrong end of the power, price spectrum. In 2022 look for Quectel and Navspark to drive some of the lower end competition, and for L-Band augmentation to start to get some traction and roll-out.

seems now tracking E14 & E18 disable by default, because yesterday evening satellite E14 was available for tracking with hight SNR -56 rate in my place, but not tracked (red colour on a picture sattellite map)https://drive.google.com/file/d/19VBM4AdJNlWhmFyqFL572pAGkK7GTwAA/view?usp=sharing\” alt=\”Satellite map\” />.

Okay. That seems just what they did.
