simpleRTK3B Pro first step

Q&A forumCategory: QuestionssimpleRTK3B Pro first step
vcorp asked 2 weeks ago
Hi everyone. In the meantime we have ordered 4 simpleRTK3B Pro cards, with the idea of going to replace the current simpleRTK2B kit (Base RTK + Rover + Heading).
We only ordered the cards as we already have the xbee LR and GPS antennas (They will be removed from the simpleRTK2B kit).
I saw that by connecting the board to the PC I can access the configuration both via rxtools and via the web interface.
Has anyone already configured the card to work like its previous sister?
I mean you throw out the Nmea data on one of the two USB ports and get the RTK fix via xbee LR?
I have read the information reported here:
https://www.ardusimple.com/simplertk3b-hookup-guide/
but I couldn’t do much.
As always thanks for the help.

Hi vcorp,
1. Note that simpleRTK3B Pro will need a triple-band antenna to work well, with the ANN-MB from the LR kits it will not work very well.
2. Set up your base station settings fixed coordinates (it doesn’t have survey-in mode this module) and enable RTCM output via COM2 at 115’200bps
3. Your rovers are already ok with default configuration, just enable NMEA if you need in any of the interfaces as explained in the hookup guide.

PPS
We have these antennas which are already equipped with a cable.

By purchasing the model I have identified, do I need a cable or is it already included in the package?

You can connect directly the Tripleband helical antenna to the simpleRTK3B Pro, but it will cover the access to the JST connector and you will be more limited with the mounting position of the board. An extra cable will help with the installation but is not mandatory.
