RTK Base Station

I have a simpleRTK2B and have been testing RTK using a public NTRIP station. However, it is around 20km away and I am not sure about the accuracy.
I also have a M8P-2 based board  https://www.sparkfun.com/products/retired/14980 and would like to know if this would work as a base station for the simpleRTK2B. If it did work, would there be any compromises from using a second simpleRTK2B as the base?
Thanks for any help.

simpleRTK2B is dual band, whereas M8P is single band. They are compatible, but you will get M8P performance is you use F9P with an M8P base station…

The point of L1 + L2 is to pull the ambiguity resolution time from minutes to seconds.
The M8P’s would be better tasked in a Rover application
