I bought ardu’s simpleRTK3B Heading. I connected it to my computer via USB and started agopengps, but I can’t get gga and vtg data. For some reason, the ntrip data connected with agopengps is input to the rtk3b board via USB. In the browser it is rtkfix. I set the browser to send nmea data via USB, but I haven’t sent the data from rtk3b to my computer. USB1 is specified for the output of nmea data. Is this wrong? I also tried the output from the serial port, but it’s the same.

Hi Kazu,
Thank you for your message and description.
Disconnect AgOpenGPS for a moment. Do you have a terminal program like realterm or u-center to confirm that the receiver is actually outputting data or not?
replied 1 year ago
i have same problem but with ucenter it’s ok, i have GNCGA and GNCGV active
replied 1 year ago
I checked it in ucenter today and I was able to connect successfully and check the message. However, no data can be sent to agopengps.

Hi Kazu,
Ok it is good confirmation that in u-center you could see the NMEA streams.
Are you using another software (not agopengps) for NTRIP connection and is keeping the USB interface busy?

I connected the RTK3B to the USB on the antenna side. Then I connected to Ucenter and checked the message. However, I could not confirm it with RTKLIB.
I also mounted the buletooth Bee and connected it, but I can’t read anything from it with UCENTER and RTKLIB.
The GPS> Xbee LED on the module is blinking.
In addition, I connected the USB port and buletooth with RX CONTOROL. USB can be read, but buletooth cannot.

Hi Kazu,
Our bluetooth Xbee works at 38’400bps by default. Did you configure the COM2 (which is the one connected to the socket) at this baudrate?
replied 1 year ago
The baud rate is 38400.
I can connect with Ucenter, but I can’t see the data.
Septentrio setting The browser outputs to com2.
I have no idea what’s wrong.

I connected to the USB port on the Xbee side, but I can’t see any data.

Hi Kazu,
I’m sorry I got lost with so much information. Could you summarize again what is working and what is not? I would really help me support you better.
replied 1 year ago
Some software can read NMEA data and some cannot.
USB> Ucenter OK
USB> RTKLIB OK
USB> RXTOOL (DATALINK etc) OK
USB> AGOPENGPS NO DATA
USB <AGOPENGPS OK
I looked at the data from USB with PuTTY. The data was coming.
After all, it seems that only Agopengps can't read NMAE data from USB.

Hi Kazu,
Thank you for the summary. Yes it is strange that only AgOpenGPS says no data.
1. Are you doing the tests with antennas connected and outdoors?
2. Do you know which messages does AgOpenGPS require?
3. Can you share a terminal logfile so we can see the GPS configuration?
replied 1 year ago
Yes, the antenna is outside. The septentrio browser confirms that it is receiving satellite radio waves. And I think agopengps needs gga and vtg data. I would like to share the configuration file later. Now, I noticed something strange. Is it normal that the gps fix LED on the board is always on even when it is not fixed? It does not blink.

Hi Kazu,
About the LED, default configuration of Mosaic is a 5ms timepulse, which is really difficult to see with the eye. You can change the timepulse configuration via the web interface.

Does GPS FIX LED light up if stand alone of the gps status ?

yes

I installed the header to try it out, but for some reason it turned on but nothing worked at all. It looks like it’s broken by myself.
Thank you for teaching me various things.

Hi Kazu,
We are sorry to hear that the board was damaged. If you want you can send a picture of the damage to info@ardusimple.com , my colleagues will check if it’s possible to repair and if yes what would be the cost.
replied 1 year ago
If you are sending GNCGA and GNCGV then AgOpenGPS won’t see it. It needs GGA & VTG.

AgOpenGps recognizes the nmea frame very well whether it is GNGGA or GPGGA it is a septentrio virtual port problem because indeed Aog cannot connect to any of the USB ports but connects to the com ports including with the XBee Bluetooth Plugins module the solution for Aog to work, you have to change the driver of the two com ports among those provided by septentrio but still not output on the usb socket on the xbee
