In the meantime I tried hack#2 with aditional wires. I can comunicate with both USB ports, but the module tells me it is family 8 and takes no firmware for family 9. In U-center at the bottom I see family M8/8. WithReceiver/family i can put in family 9, but as soon as I try to flash it switches back to family 8.

Before starting a firmware upgrade, it’s important that you confirm that you can communicate with the board. Can you go to UBX-MON-VER and do you a firmware version listed there?

I can communicate. The fields in UBX-MON-VER are empty.  Still in U-center the message u-blox M8/8. When I go to Receiver-Generation and mark Generation 9 this message switches to “u-blox generation 9” but as soon as I Press Poll, it switches back to M8/8.

Hi Paul, if the ubx-mon-ver is empty then it means there is no communication.
1. when you connect srtk2b to PC, do you see a COM port under device manager?

paul.gu answered 3 months ago
Yes, I see 3 com ports, 2 of them seemed to have connection. But now I used another laptop, another usb cable and I got version FW1.12. So I loaded FW1.13 and it works!
Thank you a lot for the quick help!
