Base station needs too much time to start sending corrections

Hi,

I own a long range starter kit and after some testing I managed to got it working once. Now the problem is that on some days, even if the weather conditions are nearly perfect (only one small cloud in the sky), the base station needs way too much time to start sending corrections. After 30min it was still not sending corrections, this is too long for me to be useful in practice. The base was at exactly the same location where it was working a couple of month ago, so sky visibility should be fine. I found the page with the different configuration files and the one for the base seems to start sending corrections when it knows its absolute position with an accuracy of 2.5m. I was wondering if it is possible to create a base station configuration with a lower absolute accuracy that requires less time to start sending corrections. Absolute accuracy is not important for my application, only relative accuracy is important. How can I increase that value from 2.5m to let’s say 10m? I assume then the base station would need much less time until it starts sending corrections?

Dear noname2,

If after 30 minutes it’s still not sending corrections the problem is not the “target accuracy” for the base station position survey.

Check these possibilities:
1. Your antenna installation has partial obstruction of the sky.
2. Don’t move the base station antenna once is has been powered.
3. Don’t walk over the base station antenna once is has been powered.
4. If 1,2,3 are not your case, then probably settings have been overwritten, upload again the correct configuration files, don’t forget the last step of storing in flash: http://www.ardusimple.com/configuration-files
