UART2 with XBee HC-05 TX/RX pins fails partly

  • I can send RTCM3 over Bluetooth-XBee to F9P (PRT-UART2 in=RTCM3)
  • I can receive NMEA over Bluetooth-XBee from F9P (PRT-UART2 out=NMEA)

But configuring with u-center to send out PRT-UART2 out=UBX+NMEA data fails, no such data is transmitted.
Is this a bug in F9P?

Is it possible to wire F9P-UART1 TX somehow to your XBee Bluetooth module (instead of F9P-UART2 TX)?

Hi marcel,
Yes You can do that.
Have a look at: https://www.ardusimple.com/question/how-to-configure-xbee-bluetooth/

Hello marcel,
UART2 can’t output UBX protocol, only RTCM and NMEA.
This is a limitation of the ZED-F9P module.
UART1 can do what you need and yes, you can wire it to the XBee Bluetooth module following the pinout of the XBee socket.
If you give us a few days we will prepare a new post of the “hack” series showing a more compact way to do this.
Best regards,
